Concept for the management of research data at Leibniz Universität Hannover

On June 18th 2014 the presidium of Leibniz Universität Hannover accepted the proposal to develop and implement an institutional concept for data management. This project was realised by a team representing the IT services (LUIS), the library (TIB) and the research service. The team worked out a concept which was accepted by the presidium and released for implementation on June 15th 2016. It comprises:

  •  the draft of a policy on research data management applicable for all of the university
  • the creation or expansion of an appropriate counselling service and training courses for all researchers working at the university
  • the creation or expansion of adequate infrastructures for storage, archiving, and publication of research data

A survey among the university´s researchers between June 16th and July 15th 2015 helped to estimate the demand for counselling, infrastructure, and related services. It was complemented by in-depth interviews with 20 participants until January 2016. A report containing the analyses of both the survey and the interviews is available for download at http://dx.doi.org/10.15488/265.
